The county directory also shows (334) 874-2585 for the jail, but that conflicts with the current jail page and should be treated as a legacy number. Dallas County E911 lists (334) 874-2578 for sheriff administrative and non-emergency routing. E911 can direct a call, but it is not a booking roster or records archive. Use 911 only for an emergency.
Choose the source that matches the question:
- For a booking record or photograph, start with the official-first records path and send a narrow request to the sheriff or booking custodian.
- For someone just arrested, call the current jail number and ask whether the person was booked, transferred, released, or placed at a receiving facility.
- For a Selma incident report, use Selma Police’s report route. No separate Valley Grande or Orrville police record page was verified.
- For a filed case, charge change, hearing, or disposition, contact the Fourth Judicial Circuit or Dallas County Circuit Clerk.
- For a current Alabama state prisoner, use the Alabama Department of Corrections inmate search, not a county booking route.
